Faces in the Crowd
At any public gathering, I'm always on the lookout for interesting people to photograph. These are very informal and spontaneous sessions. I work very quickly so that the poses look natural and unposed. By their very nature, street portraits tend to be imperfect. The lighting is what it is. Backgrounds tend to be cluttered. There are often distractions such as bystanders. But given all the limitations, some of these shots turn out remarkably well. Collectively they represent a fascinating cross section of society. Here's a selection of portraits captured during the car cruise event in Ravenna Ohio on August 30. Thanks to everyone that posed!
