Saying Goodbye...Victor Grimm
The Mantua Ohio community was saddened by the passing of long-time township trustee Victor Grimm just after Christmas 2019. Vic was one of those people whose life intersected with hundreds of others in his dual role as trustee and business owner. Vic operated a metal and plastic fabrication business and seemed to be able to manufacture just about anything. As a township trustee Vic oversaw many projects and was instrumental in preserving the Center Road school. It was only fitting that a public visitation and memorial service was held at the schoolhouse that was so dear to Vic. Hundreds of people turned out to honor the memory of Vic. Tears were shed but laughter was also frequently heard in the gym where everyone gathered. I heard many fond remembrances of Vic. A standup guy by all accounts who selflessly devoted himself to the needs of the township. The sense of camaraderie was palpable; a wonderful example of a small town getting together to support the family in their hour of grief and providing a wonderful remembrance for this man. I was honored by an invitation to photograph the event and provide a visual record of the day.
