Hiram 4th!
The highlight of summer in Hiram Village is the celebration of Independence Day. A wonderful slice of small-town Americana as residents turn out for fireworks, kid’s bike rodeo, a band concert, ice cream social, and the grand parade. This year marked the return of the “old-fashioned” two-day format that was sidelined by the pandemic. The sense of community is profound and it’s the main reason I continue to photograph the events each year. Weather was picture perfect and really added to the festive atmosphere. Experiencing events like this always makes me wonder why there aren’t more of them. I guess that’s part of what makes them special.
